Nicolas, aged 43, was born in Aix-en-Provence. His journey in sports began at the age of 8 when he decided to try swimming, table tennis, athletics, and basketball. However, it was at the age of 12 that he discovered a particular attraction to table tennis. Participating in various competitions fueled his desire to improve his skills and achieve victories.
At 16, Nicolas became a member of a mainstream table tennis club to increase his training volume and level of play. Born with spina bifida, a congenital malformation of the spinal cord, Nicolas primarily moves around in a manual wheelchair, although he retains some mobility without it. Nevertheless, he has always practiced wheelchair sports.
Professionally, Nicolas is a sports educator in Aix-en-Provence, promoting various sports and involving students from the city's schools. His mission is to demonstrate that anyone, regardless of their physical abilities, can participate in sports, whether in a wheelchair or not.
A quadruple European champion, Nicolas has participated in the last 3 most important international competitions: London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2021, winning bronze medals in team events in London and Tokyo. His goal is to qualify for the upcoming Paris 2024 international competition, and he has tirelessly participated in numerous international competitions worldwide to earn his place.
Nicolas' life philosophy revolves around pushing limits and not limiting challenges. He believes that through sports, one can constantly discover and connect with new people, making it an essential aspect of life.
