The Wheelchair Handbook: A consumer's guide to seating and mobility equipment is intended to provide you, the consumer, with information about the wheelchair service provision process. This guide can be used when you are being evaluated for your first wheelchair, before receiving a new or replacement wheelchair, and to share with your caregivers involved in these processes. “It is well worth the read and probably one of the most important things a wheelchair user, or their family that helps with wheelchair purchase decisions, could have the opportunity of reading before a purchase and during the life of their wheelchair.
I really liked how it is explains that they, the consumer, are in charge.
The guide can not only help the consumer, but the entire team working together to ensure that the person getting the wheelchair has a successful experience that will lead to years of independence and quality of life. “
