Permobil Portrait: Jennifer Villocero

Jennifer Villocero is a customer experience representative with Permobil, working specifically on the PDG manual tilt-in-space wheelchair line of products. She takes pride in her work, helping answer customer questions and processing orders. Being able to help other people with their specific needs is the best part of the job for her. Living in the Vancouver, Canada area, she enjoys slo-pitch softball teams and being with family. She even briefly fostered a rabbit named Walnut.

Growing Up

I was born and raised in Richmond with an older brother and half younger brother. When I was a growing up, I loved riding my bike, playing in the mud, and pretending I was on my own cooking show. One of my dreams at that point in my life was to become a teacher. A highlight of my childhood was winning first place in a piano competition.

After high school, I attended Kwantlen College. The best part about that time in my life was making new friends. In my psychology class I met someone I would have never imagined being friends with. Taking sociology with my best childhood friend was a great experience as well.

Transitioning to Permobil
I worked for an environmental analytical company for just over 15 years, but I wanted to shift gears. My goal was to still be part of a company that makes a big impact by helping others. An opportunity opened with PDG and I took my chance! I’ve been working out of the Vancouver office around 2 1/2 years. I currently live just outside Vancouver in Richmond.

My job title is customer experience representative for Permobil Americas, specifically PDG. I help process quotes and orders and help answer any product questions. I take a lot of pride in my work at Permobil. It excites me when I know customers are happy with our products and that these chairs are helping individuals with specific needs. It was also thrilled to suggest new frame colors for our PDG chairs.

My average day consists of taking calls, responding to emails, helping the team and customers with questions, and learning something new. Because of this job, I’ve been able to learn more about our products and the complex rehabilitation industry.

Life Outside Work
For the past 10 years, I’ve been involved with many slo-pitch softball teams. I’ve taken a step back this year but have fond memories of playing with my friends. I also spend my time working on crafts and DIY projects. When I go on vacation, I enjoy visiting my cousins in Calgary or taking a road trip to Kelowna. I also love seeing new wineries.

My family is very important to me. I’m close with my mom, older brother, and aunt. I grew up with god sisters, who have their own children I am very involved with. I can’t go without mentioning Walnut, the half-lopped bunny I briefly fostered.
