Spinal Support NZ is a registered charity committed to empowering people living with spinal cord injuries (SCI) or impairments to achieve their best possible health and well‑being. Their services are open to anyone, and they support a wide geographic region - from New Plymouth and Taupo through to the Eastern Bay of Plenty, all the way up to Cape Reinga.
They are open Monday to Friday, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm, and annual membership is just $20 (although anyone can access their services).
What they offer:
Peer Support - Connecting people with SCI to others who understand - offering lived‑experience advice, encouragement, and a supportive ear.
Information and Resources - Providing practical information, education, and guidance to help individuals and their whānau access services and live well with SCI.
Community Engagement - Hosting regional gatherings and social events across the North Island - including West Auckland and beyond—to strengthen social connection and community.
