Discover Para Sport: Find Your Community
Experience three exciting Para sports at Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre, Christchurch, on 7-8 November 2026.
Delivered by Boccia New Zealand, Wheelchair Basketball New Zealand, and New Zealand Wheelchair Rugby, this two-day event is designed for people with physical impairments to try new sports, connect with others, and learn about Para sport opportunities.
Participants can experience:

- Wheelchair Basketball
- Wheelchair Rugby
Whānau, family, friends, and support people are encouraged to attend and take part. The event will also include information on Para sport pathways, classification, coaching, and officiating opportunities.
Supported through the Paralympics New Zealand / Bupa Inclusive Para Sport Grant, this event aims to build connections, strengthen community, and help participants discover ongoing opportunities in Para sport.
Open to participants from across New Zealand, with a particular focus on the South Island regions of Tasman, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland.
