Tania's Story
Even though there are many similarities between the two Hispanic cultures, Tania knows the joy of being embraced by a new community after a period of solitude. And even though she enjoys the bliss of a calm and peaceful daily routine, Tania has no intention of slowing down her full and active lifestyle. Tania says that her greatest ally is her Permobil wheelchair in helping her prioritise fitness and socialise with friends.
“It’s lightweight, comfortable, and allows me to keep moving without unnecessary effort – something I truly appreciate right now. Choosing it was the best decision, and every day it proves me right.”
Having recently acquired her driver’s licence, Tania has found that loading her wheelchair into the car is simple and hassle free, which has only added to her sense of freedom – which is all the more important as an expectant mother. “This stage [of life] fills me with joy.”
When not out and about, Tania is a fashion and beauty enthusiast and tattoo collector and keeps an eye on the latest trends, and believes that tailoring her appearance to her lifestyle is no different to customising her wheelchair to suit her needs. She says:
“If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that choosing the right wheelchair is essential. It’s not just an object, it’s your companion, the one that helps you live with independence and confidence.”
