Description:
Permobil is proud to present the work of Heather Feldner, Teresa Plummer, & Alyson Hendry entitled "A Guideline for Introducing Powered Mobility to Infants and Toddlers". This guideline is a compilation of peer-reviewed literature with validated consensus statements from over 40 clinicians and caregivers that provides critical strategies and suggestions for clinicians working with powered mobility.

This one-hour webinar will focus on how this interdisciplinary guideline can be an evidence-based resource for all team members who are involved in the provision of assistive technology and powered mobility. The incorporation of language, communication, physical, social and somatosensory strategies provide a training approach founded on evidence and then supported by clinical expertise.

The presenters will also highlight the appendices of their guideline, which offer practical tips for early intervention with power mobility. This guideline may serve as a clinical roadmap for introducing "On Time" power mobility to pre-verbal and non-verbal, premotor infants with a unique approach at directing training efforts.

Speakers:
Heather A. Feldner, PT, PhD, PCS, Assistant Professor, Division of PT, University of Washington
Teresa Plummer, PhD, OTR/L, ATP, CAPS, Associate Professor School of OT, Belmont University
